Genna Galluscio, BA

I work with individuals looking to address relationships, self-esteem, and challenges that they strive to overcome. I welcome all ages, cultures, and identities to my practice. I am knowledgeable in working with neurodivergent clients, particularly those on the autism spectrum and have experience working in special education-based counseling settings with ages 6-11 years old. Through this experience, I am developing this specialty within my practice. I strive to work with all clients in a way that best supports them and their individual needs.

I use person-based therapy as the foundation to my approach, believing that empathy, acceptance, and authentic connection provide the conditions for an individual to grow. I draw from cognitive behavior theory (CBT), where beliefs, fears, and patterns that cause limitation and stagnation in our lives are identified and reworked into more productive ways. I am also inspired by psychodynamic theory and value examining early life experiences and understanding how they shape who we are. With children, I focus on play-based approaches. By utilizing play-therapy, emotions are identified and processed, and skills are taught using children’s natural language of play. A main focus of mine is implementing autonomy in all of my clients, helping them gain resilience to face challenges and to make choices that support their well-being.

My approach is warm, understanding, and collaborative. I believe the client is the expert of their own lives, and I wish to show up for each one in a way that allows me to provide support and offer new perspectives. It is important to me that my clients feel heard, valued, and safe to be honest and vulnerable. I want clients to achieve what they wish from therapy, and I hope to explore how we can achieve that together.
